TOKAJ and TISZASEE
Discover the natural rivers of Hungary by houseboat! For example, start in the north from Tokaj - wine and festival town! Here you will find excellent restaurants and wine cellars that are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Louis XIV already called Tokaj wine the "wine of kings and king of wines"!
Drive, for example, on the Bodrog towards the Slovakian border and visit the large adventure park in Zemplén. On the way back, stay overnight near the Renaissance castle of Sárospatak; stop in the village of Bodrogkeresztúr and go canoeing in the nature reserve of Bodrogzug-Tokaj. Along the entire travel route you can admire the vineyards and visit the wine cellars.
Or enjoy the wonderful lake landscape in the south from Kisköre, stop in Abádszalók and Tiszafüred for swimming, fishing or discover the Hungarian cuisine during a cosy dinner. If you travel upstream on the Tisza, be sure to plan a visit to the famous fish restaurant "Halászcsárda" in Tiszacsege. Continue to the hydroelectric power station in Tiszalök. On the way back you can plan a visit to Andrassy Castle in Tiszadob. Back on Lake Tisza, don't miss the eco-centre of Poroszló with its large aquarium. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site is the Hungarian "Puszta", the largest steppe in Central Europe. The Hortobágy National Park offers you an insight into this special nature.
