In Belgium there are two very different routes for going on house boat trips. The Fleming polder areas are a district for house boats that is largely unexplored. From Nieuwpoort you can discover this impressive region. In the western direction you will reach the conservation area of Westhoek. Broad beaches lie on the coast and in the background the harbor watches over the dunes. From the top of the King-Albert-Monument in Nieuwpoort it’s not too difficult to understand how the Flemings coastal area has been conquered from the North Sea bit by bit.
